Since its launching on the Romanian market, MementoBUS, Christian Tour’s transportation division, has been focused on the airport transfers in order to facilitate touroperator’s transfers connecting the customers all over Romania with the flight and coach charters with departures from Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and Oradea.

A strategic move was made in 2018 by lauching Otopeni Airport’s shared shuttle, giving hotels in Bucharest access to hourly transfers to and from the airport. The foreign tourists could choose a shared shuttle ride to one of the 30 hotels in Bucharest covered by the shuttle route for only EUR 6 per pax / one way ride.

In the same year, Memento BUS signed partnerships with the most important players on the airport transfers market, more than 22 routes connecting the whole country with the domestic airports from Otopeni, Iasi, and Cluj-Napoca or with airports from abroad, like Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Liszt Ferenc Airport in Budapest, Vienna Airport and Palma de Mallorca Airport.

Since the begining of 2018, Memento BUS transported 15.000 passengers from and to Otopeni Airport, the biggest number of requests being made from and to Sibiu, Ramnicu Valcea and Pitesti. The most popular destinations and venues in Bucharest for which the passengers are requesting airport transfers are MementoBUS Central Bus Station, Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel, Capitol Hotel and Radisson Blu Hotel. MementoBUS management is forcasting an increase in demand for the shared shuttle services as a result of its inventory distribution strategy, several agreements being signed with international booking platforms for airport transfers. Until the end of the year, MementoBUS will launch another airport transfer service with electric cars. In a first phase, the service will be open to hotels and companies, and also to Christian Tour’s customers.

Another 15 000 passengers were transported by MementoBUS’ partners from and to domestic airports (Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Otopeni) and the ones from abroad as well (Budapest, Belgrade, Vienna) as a results of the bookings made through mementobus.com marketplace. Starting from September 2019, Palma de Mallorca Airport transfers can be booked on mementobus.com. The airport transfers are operated by CharlyBUS, a company part of Memento Group of Companies.
